Research Interests Streams and rivers are important ecosystems with complex dynamics and of great value to humans. Our understanding of these ecosystems in tropical regions is limited. Therefore, my research focuses on tropical stream ecology, including urban streams and with emphasis on the ecology and taxonomy of aquatic insects. Geographically, I mainly work on streams in Puerto Rico and Costa Rica. My interest spans tropical stream ecology, conservation, and systematics of aquatic insects.
